'Collector's Choice' 19th April - 3rd May,  11am - 4pm Tuesday - Saturday

An Exhibition, titled ‘Collector’s Choice’. More than fifty oil paintings, pencil drawings and watercolours on display and for sale. Many of the newly discovered pictures are by George Thomas Rope from the village of Blaxhall, an avidly collected artist who was also a natural historian; he died in 1929.

John Day, founder of the East Anglian Traditional Art Centre, commented “We have always researched and collected works by George Rope, and this is a rare opportunity to see a group of his pictures, a selection have come straight from the Rope Family. Our objective at the Art Centre is to promote interest in the Fine Art produced by Suffolk Artists working between 1750 and 1950, many of whom exhibited in the 19th century at the Fine Art Club in Ipswich.”

The ‘Collector’s Choice’ Exhibition runs from Saturday 19th April until Saturday 3rd May, 11am until 4pm; Tuesday to Saturday (closed Sunday and Monday).
